A Cave with a View
With artists Jonathan Haydock, Miguel Miceli and Andy Nizinskyj
Curated by Will Davie and Anaïs Lerendu
24th – 28th August 2016
Chalton Gallery, London
A Cave with a View brings together the works of Jonathan Haydock, Miguel Miceli and Andy Nizinskyj, whose practices examine the ever-increasing significance of the digital world within the physical reality. Through the nature of material transformation, each artist creates an existential void that blurs the digital with the physical. This further enables the ability to breakdown and truly addresses the way digital information is decontextualizing physical elements of everyday life.
Through archeology, fiction, and by questioning the digital world, these artists invite the spectator to encounter unexplored yet familiar environments, to cross unknown mental landscapes and allow us to reflect upon the vastness of time. A brief suspension of disbelief before realizing the artifice created with digital tools.
